It depends on the type of application you intend to use on it. Media encoding or heavy multi-tasking (think gaming with DVD encoding in the background) will work better on the dual-core while most games will work better on the FX-57.
Certain games are starting to have multi-threaded code allowing them to use the 2nd core available on dual-core CPUs but those games are the exception not the general rule.
