Actually, excerpts copied from the log,
the rest of the items I am OK with as
they directly relate to various applications
I've got on the machine.

For background: I have been using the following since I built
this machine nearly a year ago, with excellent results:

AVG Free
Ewido Security Suite
Ad-Aware SE Plus
Ad-Watch SE Plus
cwshredder
Sygate Firewall
Spybot S&D
Spyware Blaster
Spyware Guard

I also have a router with firewall.

Recently I've been getting a lot of advisories telling me
that "the document contains no data" or the internet
page cannot be found or opened, and when I retry then
it usually works. And connecting to and opening things
on the internet has been noticeably slower than usual recently.

So I scanned everything with every security app I had,
finding only one mild threat (a marketing tracking cookie),
then came onto here to post a HJT log.

I found the below new items so installed and
ran them:

ATF Cleaner
(I empty temp files, cookies, etc, pretty regularly anyway)
L2M
SmitfraudFix
VundoFix

The scanning apps all came up empty - no reports of
anything malicious.

However, now the machine seems to open things faster
esp. internet pages, and with several starts have not
had those symptoms of "no data" and being unable to
open some internet sites.

One curious thing did happen to me awhile ago over
a wireless site in a motel - I couldn't connect to the
internet either with my regular browser or I.E. I went
into Control Panel and found that my Home Page had
somehow been changed to I.E. (I usually use a diff
Home Page). When I changed it back to my normal
HP, then everything worked. It was about from that
time on that I started having the problems.

Again, the attached HJT log contains only the items
I'm not familiar with or that don't seem to relate
directly to apps I have installed.

That's good news, at least for starters :-)

Sorry - was just trying to "lighten the load" a little.

BTW - just now when I saw that I had new email
and tried to enter email, I was refused connection,.
one of the problems I'd been having. Retrying
got me right in.

It`s ok. If your having problems attaching the file, just copy and paste it. I`ll delete it when I`ve done.
