SATA partioning on ASUS A7V600-X mobo
I have an ASUS A7V600-X motherboard allowing both IDE and SATA hard drives. I recently fitted my first SATA drive (200 GB) and formatted it in Win XP Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management. Once Raid drivers were installed from the ASUS CD, XP recognised the new drive. However, I cannot partition the drive (I require 2 or more) and XP says the Layout is "Simple" rather than partitioned. Does anyone know how I can partition the SATA drive?

you should have created the partitions you wanted before formatting. now you can either delete the current partition and repartion the drive then format the partitions or you can use a 3rd party utility to create partitions on the foramtted drive.
