Quick help with an overclocking novice....

Hello, I was wondering if I write down what im going to do would someone tell me if its a good idea before I proceed?

My System:
Amd64 3400+ 754SKT (Freezer 64 Pro)
Abit NF8-V
Crucial CL3
Hiper 480W Type-R PSU (34A 12V+)

I was planning on lowering the HTT, then lowering my memory dividers, then increasing the LDT bus accordingly. I'm not hoping for much, and I cant afford a new cpu, so any advice on not damaging my system would be helpful.

Cheers,

Alex

Here's a huge tip: do not play around with the voltages if you can't afford to buy a new comp

Oh yeah, keep an eye on your temps. Make note on whats normal, and try to keep it at normal or less. Buy a new HSF combo if you need to, there's some really good ones for cheap these days.

Careful with the RAM tho, not sure how much torture they can take. Also not sure of how to minimise problems there, overclock it slowly, any signs of instability, back off.
