Getting Xbox live
Ok i have a computer with a cable modem
I was wondering if this setup would work Cable running to Cable modem Ethernet out of modem to a router 2 ethernet cords out of the router into my comp and xbox 360 Ok if this does work.. I was wondering if this cheap router I have would work or if i should get a new one. It is some router i got with a LAN hookup for my original xbox. I dont know if the cheap router would affect the performance of my internet or xbox live in any way. Here is a picture of the crappy router http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...7196928_sa.jpg |

First go Here then after that setup your router (switch) to only your computer then go there again and test youre speed. Then last but not least setup your xbox up on the router also and test youre speed . Compare all 3 different speeds
If the second part servily effects youre internet (when you plug youre computer in to the router). Then you may want a new router. If it takes a huge hit when you have both the computer and the xbox setup on the router you may want to consider a different idea. You need java to run the test go here to download it Here Last edited by CrossFire851; 05-30-2006 at 11:04 PM.. |
