I know that these wireless to hard-wired router subjects have been covered in numerous threads but I don't see the answer to my question anywhere...so, here goes.
The BEFSR41 is my gateway (attached to the cable modem) and the WRT54G is set to Router. I disabled DHCP server on the wireless and renamed the IP to 192.168.1.2. Now, here is where it gets tricky. I DID NOT change the "Automatically - DHCP" dropdown to Static IP as suggested by multiple users. Everything is working perfectly so my question is, 'what are the implications of leaving this setup alone?' Do I need to change this?
