Direct3d functionality unavailable
I'm trying to play an online game (SCO) and I get an error message saying the game does not support my resolution. I suspect it may have something to do with my lack of Direct3d functionality. In dxdiag, it says DirectDraw functionality available, but Direct3d is unavailable as is AGP functionality. It says I should ensure I have the updated driver. However, I have integrated graphics. Under device, there is no information. Under driver, it says the main driver is vga.dll, it's version 5.01.2600.0000 (English), it's WHQL Logo'd, its Mini VDD is vga.sys, and it's DDI version is (unknown). How do I fix this problem?

What system do you have, it sound as if your built in graphics are the equivalent to pci rather than agp, if this is the case then 3d games will never work properly.
It could also be a driver issue. Also, what version of directx do you have? |

Running anything 3d with integrated graphics is never good. Even if it does run, the IG taxes all the system resources just for that small scene to work.
Simple answer would be to get a card, AGP or PCI, whichever you fancy. Doesnt have to be flash or expensive... The only hope you have if you can't get a card, is to update the drivers. You can locate such drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website, with the model of your mobo, and directx 9b from Microsoft or google. |
