Except the 7600 GT you mentioned needs a PCI-E x16 slot. The E310 has two PCI and one PCI-E x1 slots. It won't fit.

I saw someone write about that x1 vs x16 but did not take proper notice of it.

Thanks much for enlightening me about the difference.

The best card for that PC is the 3DFuzion Geforce 6200. Seems to be out of stock everywhere although one guy's selling it on Amazon for $99. But that's too much considering that Newegg.com had it for only $36. U might wanna wait a while until it's available elsewhere since it's been deactivated(what's that?) on Newegg. An alternative would be the Geforce FX5500.

ok, I looked on newegg for for a Geforce FX5500 PCI, and they had three in stock two being 256, which I assume is what I need, the BFG PCI Video Card and the 3D Fuzion PCI Video Card. (forgive me for this) which would be the best to run a game like oblivion? Looks to me like its the 3D fuzion but after the crap I went through will dell I want to make absolutly sure this will work.

And thanks for your help on this

The 3DFuzion is better but if u wanna play Oblivion, then PCI will not cut it. An AGP FX5500 will be able to play it but I doubt the PCI version will. If someone here has an FX5500 PCI and has played Oblivion on it, could u please help us out here? BTW, riverwind, did u try playing oblivion with ur 6200? Did it run?

Yes. I meant that ur in hot water when it comes to playing Oblivion. Other games like CS: Source will run very well with PCI cards but BF2 and Oblivion seem shaky. This person here has played Oblivion on an FX5500 and says he got playable performance.

U can buy the card from the above link too but it will cost u a lot of money so if u really want to stick with ur machine for some time to come, get the 6200 but if u wanna buy something cheaper go for the 3DFuzion FX5500.

Well thats all I am really looking for, since I know this isnt the best gaming machine out there. As long as I can get a average performance thats fine for me. So I guess I go for the 6200.

When I clicked your link and went to the site it said its an AGP type card not a PCI !?

this one is less expensive, but it only has a 64 bit memory interface:

I bought that BFG tech card about 5 days ago, i get around 40fps on CS:S with 1024x768 resolution, it is a good card. It plays all of my games pretty good except Hitman: Contracts, idk why. I decided to get a 256mb, because my comp had 96mb of shared video RAM, and i dont think that 128 would cut it so

Nope it's a PCI card. The reviews also say that so I doubt it is AGP. Here's another link though.

1) Please don't bold the whole post.
2) Please try to use a language close to English.
3) That card will fit into a Dimension E310.

1)I dont see any rules stating "DONT BOLD YOUR TEXT" guess you should set some up, a newbie like me wouldnt mind bolding his text when there arent any specified rules and the fact "B" (bold option) is available.

2)Did'nt knew this forum's for people whose first language is "English".

3)Thanks for the help.

Oh yea is 3D fuzion better or Diamond_Viper_Radeon_X1300_PCI_256MB (since i have no knowledge about graphic cards)

The diamond fits in E310 as well?

Im only doing this upgrade to play a game F.E.A.R MP
Which require a minimum of

Video Card
Minimum: 64MB GeForce(TM) 4 Ti or Radeon(R) 9000 video card
video RAM: Required - 64 MB ,
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes ,
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes ,
Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 1.1 ,
Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 1.3 ,

So would 6200 or Diamond viper will run the game fine?, or either one would do.?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

If you take a look at this thread HERE, you`ll see what`s acceptable and what`s not.

The Techspot FAQ is also informative too.

Now thats all the way in introduce yourself section. A guy like me who dont want to introduce himself wont bother going there. Thus not knowing whats acceptable and whats not, i gave it a quick look , didnt see any rules, relating to bold writing.
I still suggest either to move that thread to of the sections or make one on each and every section,so guys like me wont get picked for using "Bold" text.

I don`t see and real reason to move that thread, because that`s where most new members head for first. Also to have it in every forum would probably be a little excessive.

Bold text is there to highlight something, which is fine. However, when a lot of bold text is used, it does get a little tiring on the old peepers lol.

Unfortunately I can`t make a recommendation for you. That`s because I know absolutely bugger all about graphics cards. The reason for that is because I don`t play any games. I`m still using an old geforce4 mx4000.

We have plenty of members who will be able to advise you though, so just hang in there.

Hi
i think the diamond viper x1300 will do better than the geforce, its a 128 bit card.
But remember that the x1550 will be available soon, it must be better than the x1300 but no one knows it for sure right now ( we need benchamarks and reviews on games).
