Severe Outlook problem
My colleague is having a serious problem with her outlook. Some messages are stuck in the outbox and seem to be jamming up the entire programme. Nothing can be sent, nothing can be exported, the error message says "the messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook". While trying to move these messages to the outbox, they seemingly vanished entirely. Restarting Outlook does not help.
The contacts book is huge and valuable but cannot be moved or exported so a reinstall is an extremely last resort.. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Hello johnbrain1.Welcome to Techspot.
Your problem is solved here HERE or if desperate Microsoft In summary - 1.Go offline,restart Outlook,delete emails,go online again. OR 2.Create new .pst file. Last edited by Peddant; 08-14-2006 at 08:54 AM.

I still can't delete my outbox - comes up with the same message - but I am sending and receiving emails now which is a HUUUUGE relief - xx
