I recently moved, and am now renting a house in FL with my family. Due to this we are not allowed to drill holes in the in the walls and such, so im now on wireless on a linksys router (same router that we've always had, and it has a wireless capability as well as being able to use a network cable). Every 3 minutes or so, the game lags out, and I freeze for about 10 seconds. Is there a way to stop this? Or am I pretty much screwed? Im not sure how bad wireless sux for gaming, this is my first time using it. It says the signal strength is excellent, and that it transfers at 11 mbps. Other then the freezeups every few minutes, I always ping around 40 to 50, my latency is very rarely up in the 3 digit numbers, so I figured it doesnt have anything to do with signal strength cause it seems to run the same as when I was on the network cable in my old house, except for the freeze ups. Any help is greatly appriciated.
