Overclocking Issue
My secondary computer is stationed at my parents house when I visit, so I have a computer to go to. It is a Sony Vaio Pcv-Rx360ds with a P3 Processor, 133 fsb with a multiplier of 6.5 (866 mhz). Since Sony locked the BIOS on this model, I have tried a program by the name of cpufsb, and when I set the fsb to 14-, the screen went grey and lines wet vertically on the screen. I thought that was normal, you know, an unstable overclock, although when I underclocked the cpu to test it, it also went unstable. Can anyone explain this to me? Are there any ways to attempt to unlock the BIOS, or any better software out there?
System Specs: Intel Pentium III EB ASUSTek CUSL-LV with an Intel i815/E/EP Chipset BIOS: Award Software ACPI Revision 1002 Dated 12/28/2000 |

Try resseting your BIOS, and see if that helps.

The strange thing is that it didn't affect the BIOS, all I had to do was turn the computer off, and it booted normal.

And it is unstable... Mhhmm...
I hope you didn't damage anything. I don't think you can do it, but I think you needed (or need) to increase a little bit the voltage. But take care of the extra heat too :hotbounce
