I looked this up in *Techspot* previous posts and found this..

This may give the issue better focus. =

What is MS ALG.exe and ashWebSv.exe doing?

Why is ALG.exe and ashWebSv,exe keeping my CPU busy while I watch the activity in Task Mngr and wonder who is using my computer while I wait for slow service?

This link alludes to wrongdoing but I admit I can not make much of this explanation.

Sometimes I wonder about the future of MicroSoft. Bill Gates is stepping down and there are many various lawsuites that M$ must deal with.

People who use XP2 for serious business must tear their hair out dealing with all the many problems with M$ Windows.

Fortunately, I don*t have to trust anything of value to the computer so these daily problems with M$ Windows only present entertaining puzzle projects for me.

Another recent mystery message from XP2 on computer start-up is **Can*t find C:/Docume~1\owner\locals~1\temp\VcCleanUp.exe**

No idea if this is anything to do with the *stealthy* ALG.exe or not.

I suspect a recent update may have wiped the VcCleanUp.exe file in error.

Thank you Howard.

I guess Avast Anti-virus, [software] was busy doing who knows what for some lengthy time. = TG
