Nope, just Brea. There is a city near by called La Habra, maybe you're thinking of that.

There is a section of Los Angeles called La Brea (as in La Brea Tar Pits) but Brea is a city in Orange County.

ya, Brea is Spanish for tar. So it's obvious why the tar pits were called La Brea or actually Rancho La Brea was the name of that area. But between the 60 and 90 freeways just north of Brea is a lot of oil fields so I'm sure there was tar around there too. There's oil everywhere in this town. (Los Angeles)

Thanks luvhuffer, I haven't lived in Los Angeles since the mid 80's. I am actually a "Valley Boy" raised in the San Fernando Valley (Tarzana). They have changed many city names and city boundries... in the last 30 years

Oh my gahad! I've tried Texas Washington Colorado, but kept coming back for the surfing. Can't do that no more since I hurt my back getting hit by a drunk driver, so the weather is all that's keeping me here now. It's getting so they need the first 15 minutes of local news just to get through the days murders now. Nothing left worth the cost of admission. lol Might try northern Cal up around the Russian or Eel Rivers. Nice up there. And I can fish. As long as I can get a fast DSL/cable. This 15.6Mbps connection has got me spoiled!

Your'e probably thinking of the La Brea tar pits, which are in LA. I have family there, but I live in Decatur, Georgia. Its a little city right next to Atlanta.
