booting problem

I have a hp pavillion a832n. Everytime that i turn it on a black screen comes up and says to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in sleected boot device and press a key. It has never said this before, please help.

Make sure your connections are properly seated on the hard drive and the eide cables are plugged in as well.

Check your bios and see if your hard drive is recognized.

Make sure your drives jumper is set to master

Your hard drive might be failing
