Hello,
After about 20 mins of playing counter strike (any source game actually) i get lag that seems to get worse and worse stedily as i continue to play (ping is always fine)

evan if i close the game and steam and start it up again, still lag. I have to restart my computer to get it to tun smooth agen (but then agen after 20 mins it lags)

specs:
3800+ 2.0gig duel core AMD64 Athlon x2
One x1900 crossfire edition 512mb PCI-E Card
2GIG OCZ DDR2
520 PSU, 12v rail (28A)
MSI K9A Platinum crossfire motherboard
120gig 7200rpm drive

If any one has any idear what might be up with my games, please help

btw, far cry, doom3, and painkiller all work fine, max settings, 1024x768 all AF ASF APP AKMFGV....(LOL) up all the way

Sounds like a heat issue, get speedfan from the downloads section and use it to monitor all your temperatures.

i been looking at temps since i built the pc last week and they been fine, here they are ne way

idle:
Temp1:33c
Temp2:30c
Temp3:30c
HD0: 40c
Core: 26c

When player counter strike right up till the point i get lag:
Temp1:36c
Temp2:33c
Temp3:35c
HD0: 40c
Core:32c

in net_graph 3 i noticed my choke has been goin up to 12 at times...usually around 0, but often goin to 5-6.

im not sure on the whole rates thing or evan how to change them, but could this be a problem too (it cant be causing the lag in half life 2 cus that dont use the internet.)

my connection is:

dsl
2meg down
i think about 256k up(i might be wrong)

What make of psu are you using?

THe make of my psu is OCZ

i figured out what was wrong

i had my duel channel memory in wrong, so it was only single.

sorted now tho
