Help with Audio Device Driver
I have just restored a compaq presario 5000 series computer model 5wv270, with WindowsME....everything is working great but no sound. In the device manager there are yellow question marks by PCIcard and PCI multimedia audio device. When I check it says there are no drivers loaded for the device. Using Everest I come up with this information on sound...VIA AC'97 Audio Controller[H]. When I search for this device I am unable to understand exactly which drivers I need to download. Can someone help me?. I did try to reinstall the drivers, but the computer says it can't find them.

I went to this site picked via as the company and searched their audio drivers....I found one that is AC'97 (compatable for ME) which is what mine says....I downloaded it to a floppy....when I try to install and let it search the removable media it says it can't locate a driver for this device.
what am I doing wrong?
