If business gets hacked must declare to public
This was an interesting read at CNN.com. It stated
"Embarrassed businesses and government agencies would have to notify consumers under a proposed law if hackers break into computers and steal some types of personal information, including Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and credit card information." This is a good thing in my mind. It brings the point that the company has been hacked before out and might make you think twice about doing business with them, with the worry of your information getting taken. This also reminds me of the law that a local sex offender would have to have their name posted at the city outskirts. |

It also increases the market for IT security analysts - which helps make the IT job market a little better.
Although, I am concerned that this would have the result of labelling a company a "target" and that there would be follow-up hacking attacks from copy-cats. |
