Wireless pcmcia card
Hi,
First time on here and need some help. I have a conceptronic c54c wireless card which i cannot get to work in an oldish (p3 900) acer laptop. I have installed the utility for the card and the driver, the system (xp pro) finds it the card connects with good signal but I cannot connect to the internet. Any ideas please, Thanks |

So the card actually works and you have internet connectivity issues
![]() How are you connecting to the internet? Through a wireless router? |

Yes, and the card works in an even older sony viao with no problems.
The Acer works okay with a USB wireless stick but does not have as good a signal recieve as the pcmcia card so it would be good if I could get it to work. |

I'd like you to connect with PCMCIA card and get the point you should be able to get online. Then try this:
Start > Run > cmd.exe In the black box, type ipconfig /all I'd like you to copy and paste the information here. To do this, you can right click anywhere in the black screen and choose "Select All". Right click anywhere in the white selection box and paste it in a reply here. |

Everything looks just great here.. Are you sure this is your wireless network you are connected to? Also, could it be that your router is configured to allow only certain hosts to access the internet?

yes this is my home network, as I mentioned I can connect with the same laptop using a usb stick dongle with no problem. And the card works Ok in a different laptop connecting to the same network and router.
