Sound and speed problems with WMP 10 & 11
Hi!
I'm new to Techspot and these forums and here's my problem. I recently upgraded to WMP 10 and then 11 but have come across 2 problems. 1. No sound when playing files or CD 2. A file or DVD is played back at faster than normal speed and yet again no sound. I've uninstalled versions 9, 10 & 11 and re-installed, but the problems are still there. I tried going back to a system repair point, but that didn't work either. I also use other media players and non of them have a this problem. Does anyone know what may be wrong and how to solve this? I appreciate your help. Best regards, CharlesH |

Problem can be solved as follows:
It's a setting of the speakers. Go to Windows Media Player then to tools>options>devices and look for advanced settings speakers. It should be set to default (soundcard). Sometimes if you have programs like Total Recorder installed as well, it tends to set itself as default for the speakers and thus causing the problems. |
