HELP - Boot problem
Hi, i recentley installed Ubuntu, but after a while i decided to take it off.
So i booted into windows and using partition magic I formated the drive (D holding linux. Now, when i try to boot into windows it says somthing like "loading grub....grub failed to load". It will then just freeze there. I think i installed the bootloader or whatever to C: instrad of D: and now its using the linux bootloader on C: even though the harddrive holding linux has been formated with HTFS. Any ideas how i can sort this out? i dont really want to reinstal XP on C: but if i have to i will...just wondering if theres any quick solutions. Thanks. |

The bootloader does not live on any partition.
By deleting the Linux partition, you deleted the bootloader configuration and now GRUB doesn't know what to do. Boot to your Windows CD and go into the Recovery Console. From there run "fixmbr". Exit and reboot. |
