EV Nova for Windows

I don't post in this forum much cause I really don't do any PC gaming, yet I had to announce this.
EV Nova has just been released for Windows, its the 3rd game in the Escape Velocity series for the Macintosh. I forget when it came out on the mac but it was an awesome game and EV Override was decent as well, I actually bought them both even though they were still playable as shareware.

Opps forgot the linkie

Veh I know you had talked about it before, but I believe I was the one that originally told you that they were porting it to the PC. And it wasn't released for the PC at the time you posted that thread, infact it just came out July 11th, the same day I made this thread.
When you posted that thread they had no offical release date named, in fact they never named a release date at all they just kept saying it was getting close.

And those screenshots you posted in that thread aren't yours like some people may have thought, those were the ones everyone could see from Ambrosia's site.

I just got done playing it for about an hour and a half, I'm taking things kind of slow but I'm progressing well. Have ~30 systems explored and a couple minor upgrades to my crappy ship, and 155,000 credits in the bank.
Ran a couple political missions before I quit but I didn't want to run too many. Its bad pissing off systems before you ship is cool enough to defend youself against their badass ships.

Guess I'm the only one playing this other than maybe Veh, but I think he's gone MIA again. I encourage some of you guys that aren't all engrossed in BF1942 and other games to give this a shot. Its fully functional (well almost - you can't capture ships) shareware and its got a really good plot. And it has awesome replayability since you can become a pirate or work for one of the many governments or work just as a trader.
I'm not too far along yet, I have about 90% of the systems explored and about 700,000 credits, I'm saving up to get 1.1M then I'm going to buy a cool ship and start blowing people up, my little shuttle gets distroyed if I even get accidentally hit by some of the weapons.

My continued talking of this game got some people in the IRC room interested in playing it as well. I ended up registering the game (yes I paid for something ). I'm going to try to attach my pilot file so those of you that have played this, or just have missed me in the IRC channel here you go.
BTW, my pilot file is awesome , I have completed the Polaris string, and have been pretty much just screwing around since then.

Ok, vBullitin didn't like my attachment, so I renamed it .zip. So if you are interested rename it to .plt its not actually a zip file.

I don't think it's really supposed to be a zip - he changed the extension so vbull would take it.

Its a pilot file. Extention .plt, vbullitin wouldn't accept a .plt file though, so I renamed it.

Renaming to zip was easier than actually compressing it into a real zip.

Mein Pilot

- EN -

Here you can find the pilot profile to play EV NOVA on PC without living in danger or poverty.
Since I tryed to set it up quickly, it has some "mistakes", as some escorts are only rented and the pilot is offender to pirates and moash and does not have access to SIGMA Tune-ups.
The "only" thing missing is the tuned Pürate Carrier from the Pürate Missions.

- DE -

VIEL SPASS!

Georg
