Prioritising Programs and limiting others
Hi, im trying to limit my system resources to just games and the obvious important processes. I'v tried other programs (can't remember their names) but that only allows me to set it to 'low'. However 'low' seems to absolutely nothing to the percentage of resources that the process takes so its completely pointless.
If anyone could give me any ideas that would be great. Cheers |

What resources are we talking about here? The "high" and "low" settings apply only to the CPU priority.
First. Are you sure you need to optimise whatever you are trying to optimise? Find your bottleneck and fix that. No point in just going and tweaking everything you see. You probbaly waste more time doing that than you would gain from the inreased performance. Second. Are you sure these programs are taking up any mentionable amount of resources? Third. Do you actually need these programs running? How about a less-hoggy altenative? |

you can try disabling some services that you don't need
if your not online stop the virus program do search for un-needed services not printing spoolsv.exe is one just remember to turn it back on to print this is mostly for cpu not memory look up how to make a mmc for memory logging to find leaks and or tweaking pagefile size
