Sorry, but you have wasted your money!! The hp pavilion a705w has pci slots only and the NVidia GeForce FX SERIES 6600 512MB is a pci express graphics card!! (pci and pci express are 2 entirely different types of slots)

Even if it did fit, the pathetic little psu in the pavilion wouldn't be able to power it!!

i wouldn't even bother to upgrade, save your money. a new card in such a system would yield limited performance gains, on account of the older PCI interface and other performance bottlenecks. next time u buy a machine get a decent custom-built rig, thus providing ample upgrade options for the future.

There is no point in answering that for 2 reasons!!

1 - It only has pci so you can't put anything half decent in it!!

2 - It has a pathetic little psu that would probably not be able to power a replacement graphics card!!

If you were to spend any money on that thing you would be wasting it!!

Hp pavilion a705w

I know it's kind of useless to upgrade the video card on my hp pavilion a705w, but you think it would be worth it if I just bought a 40 dollar video card just so I can play Counter-strike source??
