Getting A Refund On Microsoft Windows
"Then how did you come up with the $10 price figure?"
"I just know it's the right amount." "So what you are really doing is guessing. Well, my guess is the software is worth $1,000,000. Tell you what, let's split the difference. Send me a check for $500,005." An interesting and funny read that I just could not resist posting about, Getting a Windows Refund in California Small Claims Court is one man's exploration of how to ensure you get your money back for your unused copy of Microsoft Windows XP. Linux and FreeBSD devotees will instantly know what I am talking about. Although I would encourage readers to have a healthy interest in all operating systems, anyone bored enough to start some legal nuisance for the sheer hell of it because they never actually used the Windows XP that was thrust upon them will find the article useful, but its more an amusing read than anything else. |

I saw this procedure explained in a linux forum elsewhere also. I wanted to do this when I got my HP laptop, but I knew I wouldn't have a warranty if I did.

That was an interesting and funny read. I'm more than certain that you could do that with other computer stuff.
