USB Memory

I have a phillips USB 2.0 1GB. I am not able to use all the memory space. When I get to about 30% full I gt an error message that the photo cannot be copied as "The directory or file cannot be created". If I delete all the files I can start again but the same thing happens when I get up to about 30%. Any ideas?

What is the drive formatted as? Are you copying the photos to the root of the drive or subfolders?

How about reformatting the thing in case the filesystem has become corrupt?

I always format any new USB flash drive using Disk Management in XP. If it has been corrupt as in your case, do as Nodsu suggested
