Ram Problems, I think

Not sure where to post this, so I figured, 'Why not here.'

I've got two computers, one works and one doesn't. Reports of the broken computer tell me that the POST beeps three times and then shuts off which is indicative of a RAM problem. So I take the ram out and put some ram that I know works in. It turns on then, but I get no display and I don't hear any POST. So, then I take the ram from the broken computer and try it in the working computer and... there is no display but I didn't hear any POST either. I have no idea what's going on. Any help?

PS: They're both DDR400.

System specs
First, if you suspect bad RAM, test it with MESTEST 86+ booted from a floppy. Run it for at least 7 passes.

Second, read the NO POST guide in the guides forum as well as the installing and troubleshooting RAM guide.

Third read the POST beep codes guide.
