XP boot up time

I have win XP on sata HDD and set to raid 0.
from computer on to desktop it seems like a long time,
what is the average boot up time for XP?
at one stage it is asking if I want to do Ctrl-I to set up raid and other IDE detection etc. Perhaps neccessary, but never seen before my rebuild and reinstall of XP. If there is merit to my claim, how can I speed up the boot sequence if it is indeed too slow
thanks

System specs
1. BIOS. Check that all settings are correct, and if there is an option (if you don't know whats what) try and find some words like "Load Optimum settings". Save and restart.

2. Windows. See here for a starter: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic53669.html

IDE 250 gig Seagate attached to an IDE control board. Lots of games here, but the boot seemed long before the install so I do not think that is problem
