Bad things from PCAnywhere

My friend recently had me look at why her computer was running so slow. I boosted her memory up to 512, but it was still running really really slow...She had Norton on her computer, but it seemed like she didn't have it running or something, because I installed AVG and it found nearly 19,000 threats...All the files were movies(some porn), PC games(Battle field 2,etc....She doesn't even play pc games or watch ***** porn for that matter) and they were all under this ONE folder that I could not find on her comp. MY QUESTION: If she had PCAnywhere installed and either running or not...could someone have jumped on her computer and did this to her computer? She uses AOL and swears up and down that she doesn't download anything....

Any answers would be appreciated..Thanks ;]

It`s perfectly possible that your friends pc has been compromised, whether through PCAnywhere or some other route.

I suggest taking a look at this thread HERE, it may be of some use in helping you clean up the mess.
