AIM Virus...Facebook Message caused virus please help!!!!

I got an IM from my stepbrother the other day asking if he could put a picture of us on myspace. I couldnt open it and I really wasnt even paying attention to what I was doing and now my AIM is all screwed up. It sends the same message to everyone on my buddylist. I know there have been other posts about this but when I follow those instructions, nothing happens. I need help....this is annoying.

Hello and welcome to TechSpot.

Very important: Before deciding whether to clean or reformat your system, read this thread and decide what you want to do.

If, after reading the above thread, you decide to clean your system, read the Viruses/spyware/malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions to the letter, then post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread.

Regards

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

Optimum Online
PartyGaming
PartyPoker
MyWaySA

Close control panel.

Click start/run and type services.msc into the run box and press the enter key.

When the window appears, maximise it. Double click on the following services(if there) and select stop if they are running. Set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok for each service you disable.

Print Spooler Service (ad9iyeqqq)<Disable the service name and/or the name in brackets. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH print spooler, which doesn`t have the "service" after it.

Windows Zero Connection (WinZConn)<Disable the service name and/or the name in brackets.

Close the services window.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

rsbmsc.exe
mswnt.exe
RunApp.exe
MONOPO~1.EXE
Netsurf.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://as.starware.com/dp/search?x=wKX1ILEOi+Vh7AfA98Gm4Me69ZMbubcD/YOx16Q+SeUpv aBQHgR8tycpHjxAlS3OFjpsSnE6XDT5HAGVE9+ckxfkK0qDKZdhkp9IGqgmY2pa+kVBHt2QlOAI NRfl+ 6YtyOm5CL3yuoVeBS5HfLX6xy2oM14tLuzuAf1ZM9/mQLdHa/5QVV6IVdcpoAJFmpFo
