Cant upgrade my Celeron M.

Cant upgrade my Celeron M.

I have a Compaq C300 with socket 478 Celeron M. I got a Centrino to upgrade but the socket is missing a pin hole. I read on another site that the Centrinos and Pentium Ms have 479 pins. Is this true? This is my first laptop and intel CPU and Im clueless. Thanks

System specs
well Centrino's have 478 pins but they use a socket 479 which aligns tha pins differently than the socket 478 in your laptop. Your only upgrade options are the Pentium 4 M (not the Newer Pentium M) or a faster celeron. I don't recomend upgradeing laptop CPUs anyway since it oftain causes problems. (mainly overheating if the cpu cooler can.t handle the new cpu). Your probably better off replaceing the laptop.
