hi8 tapes to pc?

I just found some old hi8 tapes with tons of stuff I'd like to edit. But I sold the camcorder on ebay. How can I put them on a player/editor like windows media player or pinnacle studios without the camcorder? Do they make a device for this??

Your gonna need the camcorder, or you can take them to one of the many companies that will convert them to DVD for a fee, there is a list of them on this google link

I did all mine a while back, I linked the camcorder to a Happauge TV card and used PowerVHS software to record them, its a good idea to have a decent spec PC and ensure that a codec such as Xvid is installed.
