i'm having trouble finding a driver for the nvidia onboard sound card. i've tried the unified and detonator drivers, but none seem to work. any help would be much appreciated.

do you have a Nforce 2 mobo and are looking for the Drivers for the onboard sound?

if so you need to go to the motherboard manufacturers site and download the drivers for the sound . the detonator drivers are video card drivers not sound drivers.

Yes, if you have an MSI motherboard then MSI would be the manufacturer.

Just download the nforce 2 drivers from Nvidia! current version is 2.45.

If his mainboard does not have the onboard SoundStorm, he cannot use the Audio drivers contained in the nVidia unified drivers. Instead he needs to install the Realtek drivers HERE.

I posted the drivers for the ALC650 because that's the most common codec used for NF2 boards, but make sure it is the right one before installing.
