90-95 Cent degrees when I'm gaming
Hello guys,
My PC was reaching 100 Cent degress and then I reassemble the HEatsink and place new thermal compound, after that, my PC is moving in an average of 88 to 92 Cent degress and sometimes is crashing with the blue screen showing the machine exception error and the code 0x0000009C. I mainly reach these temps when playing Everquest 2, my memory is only 1 Gb, I dont know if this have something to do with this or what could be the reason and possible solutions for these high temperatures, please help!!! |

man these are very high temps and your pc may not be able to last for a decent amount of time ,check properly that the heatsink is in contact or is above contact the manufacturer if it is still in warranty

Which component is reaching this temperature? From what you are saying, it seems to be the CPU. Clean out the heatsink completely and ensure that it is completely free of dust. Use Arctic Silver as the thermal compound, first wiping away the old thermal compound using 90% isopropyl alcohol.

When you say Cent do you mean Celsius? If you do your PC must be melting by now

The upper-end thermal limit of most Intel P4's I have read about is 72-75 degrees C at which point they are supposed to throttle down. AFAIK AMD's are lower than that.
Many mobo's have an intellligent fan control in bios for the cpu heat sink fan that, when enabled, runs the fan quieter and slower when the cpu is cooler and speeds it up when it reaches some preset temp; make sure yours is set at the lowest target temp. |

After placing new thermal compound my temp drops to 90C degrees when gaming and around 60C out of the game, but i think this is still too high. |

You should be aware that any bios smart fan setting only applies to fans connected properly to the mobo - basic but I had to say it.

Bro, available doesn't mean 'proper' - check your manual - I have heard of connectors beside the cpu that weren't the one needed - also, many/most/some/all standard fans (if you changed the 'stock' heatsink) won't regulate properly on mobo connections.
