I recently sold my Go-kart for $500 and I want to build a new PC, I could spend up to $650.

I want to be able to play Half-life 2, CS:S and Company of Heros on this new PC without having lag

Could someone help me pick out some parts? Never built a PC for only $650

These components will give you an exelent computer with features such as a core2duo processer, 2 GB of ram(will be necessary if you ever plan to install vista), a 250Gb HDD, DVD Burner, Good midlevel video card,
and a case, PSU, and motherboard from reputable manufactures.

Awesome picks, I'll probably change the Videocard to atleast a 7800, thanks... Most of my PCs I build are in the $800-1600 range

Also the PSU is abit weak and I never heard of that brand, I'll probably switch it to my personal favorite OCZ GameXStream 700w

7800 cards are old tech. Snatch up a brand new eVGA e-GeForce 7900 GS KO. Thats the card I have, and I can tell you its a beast. I love that card so much. Its great.

FSP is the company that OEMs the OCZ GameXStream PSUs

I went with 400w to keep it in budget which is fine with a core 2 duo and GeForce 7600. However If you plan for an upgraded video card a better PSU would be recomended. and the OCZ GameXStream 700w is an exelent choice but is pricy for a budget system.

at 500w it is sufficent for the demands of virtually any single video card and at $67 the price is good and it is made by FSP whose quality is only surpased by SeaSonic and PC Power&Cooling which are both far more expensive.

Just for reference FSP tends to underate (mark the output lower than it actually is) their PSUs

I would go with the FSP, Antec, or CoolerMaster for the budget you have outlined.

I could always go over the budget, I was just saying I would like to spend less then 600, Plus the PSU I linked I used in all my machines and it's very good with alot of room to let my machine breathe and still be able to upgrade my videocards to DX10 without having to change out PSU

Don't forget to factor in the price of an OS!

Also, how far overbudget are you willing to go? If you decide to go up to say, $900, well then that changes a whole bunch of things. If you say $650 we try to aim for that mark.
