Games that support multicore processors.
I just wanted to make a list of games that support multicore CPU's. Some of them need special patches and/or optimizations.
Age of Empires III Battlefield 2* Battlefield 2 Special Forces Black & White 2 Call of Duty 2 City of Villains Crysis FarCry* F.E.A.R (shows no practical difference in performance terms) Half-Life 2* Half-Life 2: Episode 2 (dual and quad core CPU support) Peter Jackson’s King Kong Quake 4 (needs a SMP patch) Serious Sam 2 S.T.A.L.K.E.R Supreme Commander The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion The Movies Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland Vanguard Saga of Heroes World of Warcraft *= These games do not natively support dual core processors, but ATI cards (don't know about Nvidia ones) receive a small performance boost when playing this titles with a dual core CPU. Feel free to correct this list, or add new games to it. Regards ![]() Last edited by wolfram; 04-21-2007 at 03:20 PM. Reason: modified list. |

Anybody know about SimCity 4?
![]() It's about the only game I ever play, and I hardly play it. I'm just wondering how well it will do on my (soon-to-be-mine) Core 2 Duo (hopefully) laptop. |

SimCity4 doesn't support dual core CPU's.... It's a game from 2003 I think.

Yes, WoW is multi-threaded. Not sure if it can use four CPU cores, but it can surely use two cores

Supreme Commander.
Quake 3 engine is somewhat multithreaded too, so most games using that engine should be as well (in theory). |

Open task manager and select processes/view/select columns and check the thread count box. When the game is running look at the thread count.
