power failure help please

I was in the middle of doing a scan disk and the power went down now computer will not reboot while it loads xp I see a flash of the blue screen from the scan disk. How do I get that to shut down and reboot the computer? any help appreciated. thanks

so you wanna shut down the scan disk....right? I would need a little more info be specific.
