Turning a wireless router into a repeater?

Does anyone think this is possible, im having trouble getting a connection in my room, have an old wireless router sitting around thinking about doing some modding.

If the router supports it, then yes. If not, then no. Simple :)
You may be able to use some custom firmware like OpenWRT to get WDS support.

In any case, WDS does not support WPA encryption so your repeated wireless network will be much less secure.
