DVD Players ????

My "search" turned up mostly 2002 questions and answers, a bit dated.

I would like to find a simple and free, or cheap, DVD player for my computer.
Any suggestions?

Thank you

VLC media player should be just what you need.

Howard has the best answer, but I'll throw this out too just for general knowledge.

2 Popular commercial programs are WinDVD and PowerDVD, often one of these comes free if you buy a retail DVD burner (not OEM). WinDVD is a pretty good program, I really liked it for a while, it has some time stretching/shrinking features that can be really useful. PowerDVD is more plain. WinDVD is NOT good if you have XP Media Center Edition, it drops off its mpeg2 driver for system use but it doesn't work 100% with MCE and can cause some odd behavior. Also WinDVD takes up 200+ megs I think, where PowerDVD is about 1/10th that size. PowerDVD's mpeg2 codec works flawlessly with XP MCE.
