How do you disable the preview of movies on your PC?

Hi everyone

I want to know how to disable the preview of movies on my PC - the first frame shown in the icon of each movie. right now I have a lot of movies on my PC, and because everyone of them shows the preview, my hard drive has crashed and I can't access it!!!

I have changed the view settings to list instead of thumbnails- in that way you don't see the preview, but this is just temporarily- I want to disable it completly.

Anybody know how?

TIA

System specs
More details like OS

Do you mean playing DVD movies or avi and mpg's or something else ?
What Player are you useing ?
Just use the players File menu to load from their location. You don't need to view them in My Computer.Make a Playlist.
But i really don't understand what Preview means after you mention
viewing as an thumbnails or list. Its just a choice of what you have and more of an icon of it.That won't cause a system crash.I just looked at mine that way.
That shouldn't have anthing to post about.
First you say you crashed, then you say you made changes.

simple. Right click on an empty spot in the directory and select view list or something besides thumbnails.
