*****Notice: I may or may not have gotten 2 trojans from one (or more) of these, so make sure your protected and I am sorry if you do get one (or more), but this is what works for me.*****

***One more thing: I have a DVD-RW player, so you may or may not be able to see the finished product on your dvd player***

Download and install FLV Extract ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=FLV_Extract )

Download and install VirtualDubMod. ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=VirtualdubMOD )

Download and install HuffYuv codec. ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=HuffYUV )

Download and unpack these to the VirtualDubMod Plugins folder: . MSU Deblocking v2.2 filter and MSU Denoiser v 1.6.2 filter ( http://compression.ru/video/deblocking/index_en.html ) ( http://compression.ru/video/denoising/index_en.html )

Download DivX and Install it. ( http://www.divx.com/ )
**********

First use FLV Extract. This little program gives you an avi and mp3 in about 2 seconds from your .flv file. Simply run the program and drag and drop your .flv file onto it. It extracts the avi and mp3 to the same folder.

Load the avi into VirtualDubMod then go Streams - Stream list - ADD and load the mp3 audio file.

In VirtualDubMod go Video - Filters - Add - and add both msu deblocking and msu denoiser. The default filter values should be fine.

Again go Filters - Add - resize. Enter New Width: 512. New Height: 384. Filter Mode - select Lanczos3 or Precise Bicubic{A=1.00} . Check the box "Expand frame and letterbox image" then enter width: 720 and height: 480.

In VDMod go Video - Compression - select Huffyuv codec. I usually set huffyuv to 'Field Threshold = 480.

Go File - Save As Avi and save out the new file.

This will give you a filtered huffyuv avi file with mp3 audio with a 720x480 letterbox frame with a 512x384 video inside it. You can stretch the .flv to full screen but it will look like crap. The idea with the letterbox is to make the flv file look as good as possible.

Now, open up the DivX Converter and convert the AVI to DivX, and burn the file with it.
If you have nero, you could do it with it, just use Nero Express and when adding the file, make it see all files instead of just supported.

Good luck.

you might also need ffdshow ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ffdshow ). Install and set it to decode flv1.
(With ffdshow I only let it decode what I want it to, nothing extra. In your case only FLV1)

I have for it Flash to Video Encoder PRO. Easy and simple software for using and understanding. I use it long time and I haven't any problem with converting my flv to avi, mpeg, wmv, etc. files. There is a free trial version without time limit.

I saw these 2 suggested on another forum:
DVD Flick
Super

Super looks pretty shady, but there were a couple people mentioning it so maybe its not bad, I've not personally tested it though.

There's nothing wrong with Super. Apart from the stupid name. Another good free converter is MediaCoder:

http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/download.htm

Not sure whether it will do flash files though.

I used the SuperAVconverter that supports all audio and video files conversion. It doesn't take that long too convert a 1-&-a-half-hour movie with average qualities. It only took me about 21 minutes. Very fast.
