Problem: Extreme CPU overheating - Dell Ispiron 9300

Greetings,

I think I have a big problem:

For a couple of weeks, I had a bad RAM module (512 MB) in my Inspiron 9300. Sometimes my laptop crashed, just like last night. But when I booted (very slow) my laptop this morning, my fans immediately runned at 100%. So I removed the bad RAM module and did a system restore, hoping this would help. It didn't. Then I started I8kfanGUI and these are the results:

CPU speed: 220 Mhz (should be 800 idle and 2000 stressed)
Temperature: 85 °C (normal peak values are 70 degrees, idle: 35 degrees)
CPU load: mostly 100 %, base load is about 60 %
Fans: CPU: 5345 RPM and Nvidia fan: 5231 RPM, so both at max...
GPU, Memory, Chipset temperature: missing! strange...

What can I do about it? Will a complete format help, or is this a hardware issue... Maybe Bios? I just hope my CPU isn't damaged... Warranty is over.

Many thanks

Alexander

What I forget to mention:

Last weekend, the laptop of my battery failed during gaming... It still works, but the battery led on the laptop, which is normally green, shows 4 times orange (short) and 1 time green (long). However, this battery doesn't feel hot...
