System specs
Not sure if this is registry corruption, but it won't do any harm to install the following to see if it makes a difference. Please let us know if it does.

User Profile Hive Cleanup Service.

Steps you can take that are easy:

1 - insert your XPSP2 disk, hold shift key until the cd light calms down

2 - Start, Run, type 'sfc /scannow' (no quotes)

3 - let the thing do its' thing

4 - remove the cd and reboot

5 - get out your support cd for the mobo

6 - reinstall the chipset drivers

7 - get out your support cd for the vid card

8 - uninstall the vid drivers from Add/Remove Programs

9 - reboot

10 - install the vid drivers

11 - reboot

12 - download and run for 10 passes memtest86

If no problems found with memory, run normally until next BSOD.
