Games quiting to desktop

When i play games like Battlefield 1942 and C&C Generals Zero:Hour it allways quit to desktop suddenly after about 15-30 min i hate it when it does plz help.

I have the latest drivers.
I have SP4 and the latest updates for Windows.
All the games are original.
I have tryed using Windows XP and it doesnt help.

My computer:
CPU: P4 3.0 - C with Hyperthreding
MB: MSI 865PE Neo2-FIS2R
RAM: 1024 MB DDR Corshair (2x512)
HDD: 2x160GB Maxtor SATA RAID
GFX: Geforce FX 5900Ultra (MSI)
OS: Windows 2000

I dont think my cpu gets to hot:
Chassi: 34 C
CPU: 33 C
(idle)

It might be a problem with your vid card getting hot. I'm not exactly certain though. But if it happens in every game you try it's not a problem with the games themselves.

I realize that the FX cards arent fully compatible with DirectX9, but you might want to give it a shot.

They may have put support in there latest Detonator drivers, requiring DX9.

I dont know i got a prog so i can measure the temperature on my gpu is 72C to hot after just playing for about 2-3 min?

(once again sorry for may bad english)

Well I don't know that much about the exact temperatures (I can't get any monitoring software to work at all on my PC), but your vid card is being worked while sitting at your desktop as well, it just gets worked more during games. Maybe someone else can help you though.
