Firefox problems

this is the firstime this every happen to me im on my firefox when i download stuff a download thing opens and show what im downloading. for some reason its not showing so i dont know if im downloading

Is the box next to, "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file," checked? This is under Options in Tools.

yea it is checked but it wont pop up when i download

have you installed an addon like download statusbar or something?
Check your download folder and see if there is files present there.

System specs
Check the default download path in the settings and make it correspond to where you want to save.
try right clicking the link to download. You should get that "Save to" box and then clicking save after it un-grey itself..

try this:
Download FEBE from here
it will allow you to backup all of your firefox extentions to a folder, you need to specify a folder from it's settings menu, after that re install firefox,re-install FEBE, go to the FEBE preferences, specify the same folder as before, then come out of it and select tools --> FEBE --> Restore --> then restore whatever you need to.
