This has more to do with the fact that music sucks, than it has to do with people using p2p rather than buying albums. Of course we can argue about that all day, as it is subjective and your opinion may vary according to whether you like music that sucks or not.

While we are on the topic, I would like to partially blame the drop in record sales on the drop in the music content of MTV and VH1, as well as most radio stations only playing a few songs which are then repeated all day. These things have reduced the exposure to different bands, so you don't hear them and don't buy their albums. I just wanted to throw that in and see what reaction it gets.

I concur. I used to listen to radio all the time, but now I only use it to wake up in the morning. And the little MTV I watch is full of soap operas and "reality" TV shows. WTF, it's supposed to be "Music Television"
