Install win 2k on new notebook hard drive
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez help!!!!!!!!!
Drive passes diagnostics. Is recognized. Seems fine. Install disk is fine. What happens>>>> Win 2k does the usual all around the damn bush stuff until is gets to the (computer will reboot is 15 seconds and continue install) When it reboots NOTHING HAPPENS. Just the blank black screen with the cursor. |

Is this a new drive?
Your problem sounds typical of a defective hard drive. If new, replace it under warranty. Most often this problem occurs when any of the first four sectors have defective media. |
