Weird Wireless Connectivity Problem
Okay, today was the second time I've been to my favorite local wireless cafe and been unable to get online.
The frustrating thing is my computer is telling me that it's detecting the router and that I'm receiving an excellent signal--so the limited possibilities Windows offers for troubleshooting the connection don't work (it tells me hardware, firmware, et al are all just fine). Everyone else in the cafe has no trouble connecting. One possible clue: When I try to use the 'repair' option, Windows tells me it can't disable my wireless card, and that I should check to see it's installed properly. But as far as I can tell it is installed properly, because it works on my home wireless. I'm using a Dell and Windows XP. Thanks for any advice. rkokelly |

at home you have encryption enabled and the hotspot can't use it
try your Wireless Network Wizzard to create a NEW connection. |

wireless connectivity question
Thanks, Jobeard.
Tried it and got kind of puzzled, since the wizard seems to exist to set up secure networks and not connections to hotspots. Maybe I'm being obtuse. Kevin |
