Can I have multiple workgroups on one computer?

I use VPN software to connect my computer to other networks. This software generates virtual NICs for each connection. Is it possible to set a give NIC to a give workgroup? Or can the whole computer only have one workgroup ID?

To my knowledge, each computer has ONE Name and ONE Workgroup name.
The VPN connections will manage themselves, BUT in doing so, will also exclude
the ability to share systems on your LAN with the VPN connection; This is a
security issue for the system you are connecting to.
