Entering Bios Problem

Hi Guys,

I have a boot up problem with a packard bell Easynote E2560 which i hope someone might know the answer to,

When i switch the computer on it hangs at the 'Purple' Boot Screen, it will stay there all day if i dont turn it off.

If I press F2 to enter the bios setup I get a message saying
'Warning Cmos Checksum Invalid-Run SCU Entering setup please wait'
and here it just waits nothing happens?

A friend suggested the cmos battery may be flat, so I have changed it but the problem still persists.

If anybody does have any advice I would be most greatfull.

Thanks

try to remove hdd and cdrom. if the computer will show you the bios screen, so the problem is most in faulty hdd. if not, this can be the southbridge problem.
