Won't read hdd

my 2,500$ comp has messed up and it wont read the hdd i havent defraged and i used to have a lot of viruses and so i wiped the comp of all un neccesary programs and it wont connect to internet (im usin friend comp)
and extremely ssssssssslllllllllllllllllooooooowwwwwww

PLESE HELP

oh and on boot up it says "TCP/IP protocal not properly installed".
Part of the problem or no?
